Strategic and Business Planning

Taking the Hassle out of Strategic and Business Planning for Your Division or Section

An effective, aligned plan that is well understood by your key staff and engenders commitment is not easy to achieve, but is worth gold.

Planning workshops can be very effective and other times a waste of time.

Effectiveness is greatly influenced by the knowledge of your business, quality of the process, preparation and facilitation.

To ensure the development of an appropriate organisational strategy which delivers a competitive advantage, EMD has developed one and two-day business-planning workshops to meet your requirements.

We base our workshops on the work of Michael Porter as well as on W. Chan Kim's at Harvard Business School. Porter's work focuses on competitive analysis whilst Kim's work is in creating uncontestable market spaces (Blue Ocean Strategy).

The workshops utilising the models developed at Harvard uses Scenario Analysis, Competitive Analysis and Games Theory to develop a plan. EMD's competitive advantage is to make these processes simple and accessible to all strata of the workforce.

Our ability to engage people and our focus on preparation is a formula for success. Experience has taught us lots of useful lessons to ensure you get the best out of your planning process.

Our approach consists of:
